BIG DOG BOWL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Registration & Field Access
All coaches and participants must be registered, show ID, and have a BDB wristband to access the field.
Participant BDB wristbands are provided at daily check-in.
Each team receives five (5) coach/AD wristbands for field access.
Age cutoff: Age on July 31, 2025 determines division (cutoff date: August 1st).
The game schedule will be released 48 hours before the event starts.
Uniform & Equipment
Players must be in full uniform.
Jerseys must be similar in color across the team and fully cover shoulder pads and all upper-torso padding.
Sideline Conduct
The head coach is responsible for the behavior of staff, players, parents, and fans.
Offensive language is prohibited and can result in yardage penalties, ejection, or forfeit.
Parents are not allowed on the field unless operating the chains.
Chain crew may not coach, cheer, or speak to players.
Water boys/girls are not allowed. Only coaches and ADs may provide water
Game Format and Event Structure
Saturday: Pool play
Sunday: Championship play
Bracket A: Saturday winners; compete for team trophy + rings
Bracket B: Saturday non-winners; compete for team trophy
Game Clock
4 quarters per game
8-minute quarters - no running clock
Halftime: 4 minutes
Timeouts: 2 per team per half
Extra Points
From 3-yard line: 1 point
From 6-yard line: 2 points
Overtime Rules (Sunday Only)
The ball starts at the 5-yard line.
Each team gets one play:
Touchdown allows for a 2-point attempt from the 6-yard line.
The opposing team then receives the same opportunity.
Teams alternate until a winner is determined.
Coach-on-Field Rules
8U, 9U, 10U: One coach allowed on field (optional).
11U, 12U, 13U: No coaches allowed on the field.
On-field coaches may NOT talk to players after huddle breaks → penalty: 15 yards.
General Information
Check-In & Wristbands
All coaches and players must check in each day before games.
Coach/player BDB wristband required for field access.
Spectator wristbands are not permitted on the field.
Spectators
Directed to appropriate stadium side per team.
Entry fee: $10 adults / $5 youth (ages 3–10).
Preferred payments: Venmo, Zelle, CashApp.
Food, Drinks, & Restrictions
Only water allowed on the field.
No food or non-water drinks on the field or track.
No outside food, drinks, or coolers in the stadium.
Food vendors available on-site.
Facilities & Policies
Parking is free.
No pets allowed.
No smoking of any kind.
